09-01-2002 - 4X4 Quad Video Area 2 - 1 of 5

On the last updated.. we took you to the "biggest pile of sand" you could possibly find on the East Coast and took a look on how to tackle it DQCog style.

09-13-2002 - Dakota Engine Diagnostics

With this update we begin taking our first peak into how our Dakotas work.

We begin our technical section by taking a brief look at OB-1 & OB11 history followed by the beginning of the best explanation you are going to find on our trucks diagnostic systems... the PCM or power control module.

Knowing how the PCM works and what it does is a Quad owners first steps in diagnosing engine and powertrain problems.. how to maintain top performance.. and when the time comes knowing what performance parts will work best.. and what will be just a waste of money.

Included in this update are the OB-11 DTC Chrysler / Dodge error codes. For those who plan on getting a diagnostic scan tool.. or just knowing what "service" is talking about. We take a look at what is with out a doubt.. the best scan tool for diagnosing your trucks problems. It's just a shame you can't buy one.

So whether your Dakota has the 3.9 six cylinder engine.. the 4.7 or 5.9 fuel injected V-8 cylinder powerhouses.. this section will put you on the right track.. you'll find it all it here: http://www.dqcog.com/index/tech/diagnostic/index.htm

Most of you.. will have noticed by now that we have a new look for our forums.

In order to give our site a more dynamic look and a neater graphic interface..

You can can now jump directly and quickly to the newest update on the site.. with out having to enter the forums.. just by clicking the image on the left hand side of the DQCog Navigator.

And We Even Managed To Squeeze In A New Update

On our newest update to our site.. we take a look at what may have "baffled" a number of new Dakota owners the first time they took a look searching for the oil filter.. The front engine base compartment shield!

In preparation for a few upcoming articles.. it was decide that we should walk you you through a step by step test and picture guide on how to remove and replace this shield with out busting it all up.. or having to run out and get new fasteners.

In future articles you'll see exactly why removing this shield is necessary.

And as of today's update.. non 4x4 DQCog members.. don't have an excuse not to view the movies because the file downloads are to large. We have "shrank" the new clips to 1/3 their sizes using "the new technology".

So enjoy the.. 340 x 240 large videos.. the "driving" stereo music.. because as we make room for new movies.. they ain't always going to be there!
